Excluding the Chinese Pressure Washers sold in America and those sold to do-it-yourselfers at places like the Home Depot, how many pressure washers are sold? More importantly, what is the total yearly market for those sold to power washing companies in the US?
Well, it appears that more pressure washers are bought by end users than by Professional Power Washers, in fact the number could be as much as 3:1. Indeed, I know this because I use to hang out at one of our vendors and rented an office from him for a few years, we were his biggest customer and helped him become the largest Hydrotech customer 3-years in a row.
Also, I also noted that he sold other brands and most were to Corporations, construction, trucking, institutions, military, etc. and yes, to power washers, detailers, fleet washers, etc too. So if the pressure washer dealers networks are selling "X" dollars, then only 1/3 is being sold to power washing companies. So what is the number that represents "X" you ask? I believe that number is about 460 million dollars, with all types of professional mobile washing, janitorial and cleaning companies taking up about 1/3 or approximately 152 million dollars annually.
The Power Washing market for pressure washers is not a Huge industry, but it is a very worthy market to sell to. Are you designing a new cleaning system, thinking of getting into this manufacturing sector? If so, then perhaps this might be just the ticket and applying a little high-tech to an on-going very low-tech industry makes the most sense. Think on it.
